Chris Sweet founded Swamp Rabbit Moving and Storage in 2020 after gaining experience with another moving company and seeing an opportunity to do things better, especially when it came to team culture and the customer experience. His vision was to build a moving company that delivers real value through clear communication, well-trained crews, and a consistent, professional process from the first phone call to the final box.

In just a few years, Chris has grown Swamp Rabbit into a strong local operation with 17 trucks and a 40,000 square foot warehouse and facility in Simpsonville. This growth allows the company to offer flexible short-term and long-term storage options for customers transitioning between homes. While growth matters, Chris remains focused on what truly makes a move successful: dependable systems, empowered teams, and a service standard that protects both homes and businesses across the Upstate.

Giving back has been part of Swamp Rabbit from the beginning. The company donates 3 percent of its revenue to local charities throughout South Carolina and supports organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, including providing free moves for Habitat homes. For Chris, success is not measured by revenue alone. It is about building a business that takes care of people, strengthens the community, and delivers consistent results.

We began as a small company, me and a few guys, and 1 truck in October of 2020. Since then, we have grown to 19 trucks, a staff 60, and a 40,000-square-foot warehouse. To say I’m blessed with a great team is a vast understatement. During this journey, we have provided living wage jobs to all our employees and poured back into our community in big ways. That is something I’m truly proud of.
